The State Government has announced that Perth and Peel regions will return to pre-lockdown life from midnight tonight (12.01am Saturday 15 May).
They have advised that:
· masks will no longer be mandatory to be worn, unless at the airport
· there will be no capacity limits for weddings and funerals
· visitor limits for patients in hospital, aged care or disability facilities will be lifted
· 100-person capacity limit for home gatherings removed.
However, the State Government is still urging Western Australians to continue to use the SafeWA app or written contact registers.
For our Ability WA community, this means that no masks will be required to be worn by customers or staff; and therapy and community services will resume as normal. COVID-19 restrictions on the number of visitors to Ability WA homes have also been lifted. Water-based activity can now resume.
Ability WA will continue to focus on infection control with hand hygiene, cough etiquette and physical distancing (where possible) as per the Ability WA COVId-19 safe plan.
Our employment sites (Malaga and Containers for Change) will also return to normal with no masks required.
We appreciate your understanding of what has been an evolving situation and will provide you with any updates if COVID-19 restrictions change.
