Leave a gift in your Will

A gift in your Will can make a huge difference to the lives of people with disability now and for generations to come. A bequest in your Will assists us achieve our goals by having the necessary funds to continue providing and growing a wide range of quality services and promoting choice in order to address the unique needs of the people that we serve.

You may choose to provide Ability Centre with one of the following bequests in your Will:

Residual bequest - this is the remainder of your estate after all other bequests and expenses have been deducted.

Pecuniary bequest - this is a gift of a specified amount of money, for example $5,000.

If you would like to make a bequest we recommend you discuss the type of bequest you intend to provide to Ability Centre with your family and solicitor prior to finalising your Will. For suggested wording on how to include a bequest in your Will or for further information contact 1300 106 106 or email fundraising@abilitycentre.com.au

Suggested wording for various types of bequests to the Ability Centre are as follows.

Residuary bequest

“I give and bequeath to The Cerebral Palsy Association of Western Australia Limited (trading as the Ability Centre) the registered office being 106 Bradford Street, Coolbinia, Western Australia 6050, in aid of that institution and for use in the areas of most need, at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer and/or the Board ....*the following _________ percentage OR the remainder of my estate*.……. for which the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised Officer shall be an absolute discharge.”

Pecuniary bequest

“I leave to The Cerebral Palsy Association of Western Australia Limited (trading as the Ability Centre) the registered office being 106 Bradford Street, Coolbinia, Western Australia 6050, in aid of that institution and for use in the areas of most need, at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer and/or Board   ....* the sum of $ _____  for which the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised Officer shall be an absolute discharge.

Leaving a gift to a specific program

You can also specify a particular program or area within the Ability Centre you would like your bequest to assist, for example, services for children and young people/services for adults. To do this you simply substitute the wording "For use in the areas of most need, at the discretion of the Chief Executive" with the name of the unit you would like to assist. Ability Centre has been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient and an income tax exempt charitable entity for tax purposes.
