Suzi Cowcher, RN, MBA, FLWA

Suzi is an experienced executive with over 30 years experience in the health, community, aged and social services sectors. Suzi holds qualifications in Nursing (PMH), Grad Dip Business (UWA), Masters of Business Administration (UWA), is a Fellow of LeadershipWA and a graduate of the AICD. Suzi has dedicated herself for the last 25 years to community benefit organisations so that the outcomes she strives to achieve have a lasting benefit for not only individuals, but the organisation and the community as a whole. Suzi is passionate about the contributions of not for profit organisations to the fabric of the community. Suzi is also experienced in corporate and clinical governance and is a board member of CLAN WA.
Suzi was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Ability Centre in September 2015 and brings together these three decades of experience to build on the outstanding work of Ability Centre and its excellent reputation as a leading disability service provider in Western Australia.
Chief Financial Officer
Darren is a very experienced leader whose experience includes Director of Finance Perth Diocesan Trustees, Financial Controller Central Systems Pty Ltd / Resource Development Group Ltd, Financial Controller Pluton Resources Ltd, Chief Finance Officer / University Secretary The University of Notre Dame Australia, and an extensive stint at St John of God Health Care as Group Manager Accounting Services, Joint Acting Group Director Finance, Finance Manager.
Maria Davison BA Psych
Chief Operating Officer
Maria Davison took up the position of Chief Operating Officer at Ability Centre in April 2017. Maria has more than 20 years’ experience leading teams and has a successful record of achievement in effective change management, organisational development, business renewal and growth within large organisations.
Committed to making a difference in the community, Maria began her career as a psychologist specialising in aged care and organisations before a move to customer services and operations management lead her into executive manager roles. Most recently, Maria held the role of General Manager Home Care and Housing at Amana Living. Under her expert leadership, the organisation lead the sector in home care expansion and housing innovation amongst other major change initiatives. Maria is skilled in business transformation working with organisations moving into deregulated markets to ensure that great customer service is achieved through an engaged workforce and sound business tools and processes. Her passion for the not for profit sector and ensuring their continued place in our communities remains strong has been a constant through her career.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Psychology and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Phil Simich, BBus, Post Grad Dip Bus
General Manager, Strategic Workforce Services
Phil commenced with the organisation in May 2014. Phil has 30 years’ experience working in the public, private and not for profit sectors in a number of industries including printing, equipment hire, public utilities, health and aged care. Phil has skills and experience in both business operations and human resource management. Phil is responsible for the Strategic Workforce Services Division of the organisation.
Chief Innovation and Development Officer
Lorraine joined Ability Centre in September 2017 in the role of Chief Innovation and Development Officer. Lorraine possesses decades of experience across many sectors including health, social services and disability. A former speech pathologist, Lorraine has held many notable positions before joining Ability Centre including deputy CEO of LeadershipWA and Executive Director NDIS Operations where she is leading the State Wide operations of WA NDIS including the rollout of the NDIS. Lorraine has a long history of working in a way which has positive social impacts whilst balancing business imperatives and delivering innovative solutions in complex environment.
